Greetings Amateur Radio Operators,
Well it's that time of year when I am required to do the one bad part of being
the club treasurer. It's time for me to remind those of you who wish to support
the Wilson Amateur Radio Club and/or the 147.105 MHz repeater but have not done
so already, that your dues are due.
The April meeting, which you DO NOT WANT TO MISS (see the website for details)
is just three weeks away (Saturday, 5 April 2008). Between now and then I will
assemble and print the official 2008 WARC roster and distribute it at the
meeting, along with membership cards. Those who have not paid this year but
intend to, notify me ASAP.
Several of our longtime members have not attended a meeting this year, and as a
result have missed some very interesting and informative discussions. In
addition, I have not received your dues for 2008. If you don't remember paying
your dues for 2008, let's assume you have not and send me a check. :) Just
kidding. Take a look at the Members page of the club website
www.wilsonarc.org/htmls/members.htm to determine your status. If a dollar sign
( $ ) appears before your name, you have paid. Otherwise, I hope to hear from
you soon.
We have some exciting activities planned for the remainder of 2008, and of
course you are all welcome to participate whether you join the club or not.
Remember, you do not have to be a member of the Wilson ARC or any other
organization to take part in any of our amateur radio activities, picnics or
club meetings. You are always welcome at club events, so please join us for the
fun stuff, and if you decide later on that it's worth $20 annually ($30 for
families with two or more hams) you can write a check then, or not. It doesn't
matter. Just get involved and get to know some of the active amateurs here in
middle Tennessee.
Thanks for enduring my annual plea for support of the Wilson Amateur Radio Club.
I hope to see you all at a club meeting or event soon. Again, don't miss the
April 5 meeting when our guest speaker will be Sgt. 1st Class Allen Lewis of the
Tennessee National Guard. Sgt. Lewis will be discussing the U.S. Army's
Military Affiliate Radio System ( MARS ) and how amateur radio operators play a
part of the system.
See you all soon.
