CALLING ALL HAMS.CALLING ALL HAMS.CALLING ALL HAMS
It is with great pleasure that I announce that Wilson County has a new EC.
We received word late Friday afternoon that Steve Illgen, K4GF has been
confirmed by the ARRL as Emergency Coordinator for Wilson County. Steve is
well qualified to be our EC and previously was an Assistant EC in Wilson
County for training. I look forward to working with Steve and encourage all
of you consider participating in ARES whether it is as a SkyWarn spotter,
Net Control Operator, or whatever capacity/function you are willing to take
part in.
We will be dedicating the next Wilson County ARC meeting (One week from
today, 6:00 PM at Cumberland University) to an ARES interest group meeting.
Although we always welcome visitors and new hams at our meetings, I would
like to extend a special invitation to any and all Hams in or close to
Wilson Count who are interested in ARES to attend this meeting. This will
likely be very informal with no structured program but is still an important
step in reviving ARES in Wilson County. We hope to be able to have a formal
program on ARES in the near future that will provide more specific
information and details regarding ARES. Remember, this is not just for the
members of the WARC but for all hams in the Wilson County area.
